My son has a nut allergy. It's pretty scary actually, he carries an Epipen, which is actually even more scary since he's never had a reaction that would warrant using it and I'm afraid someone might jump the gun and use it without him having an actual anaphylactic shock--using an Epipen can actually cause cardiac problems and FYI if you even need to administer one you need to call 911 right after.

Anyway. I found a really nice medical sportsband he can wear. It's completely customizable too. His would read, Nut Allergy, Use Epipen if necessary, call 911. It comes in a million colors and desings but I like this brown one with the silver plate. Get them here. ◦

I can't believe I haven't shared this yet. Starfall is a great website that YOU MUST try if you're trying to teach a little kid to read. I used this with my son and he's reading (at 4 yrs old) This website is FABULOUS and it's free. There's phonics, there's 3 letter word books (if they get stuck they can click on the word and it's read to him) and tons of games and activities.

Here's a Tip..

For mom's with babies..I got this idea from our Genius friend and I LOVE IT!I find that those formula holders with 3 compartments don't work well, the formula moves from one place to the other and I've had some open completely too. I bought these plastic bags at Joann's for less than $3 and I put however many scoops of formula I need in them. I bought the larger ones and I put 3 scoops but there's room for at least 1 more. (Enfamil makes those to go packets but those are for 4 ounces of milk and they're more expensive) ◦

Save your eye cream containers and reuse them. I fill them with lotion (since obviously the 2 large containers are not meant to be portable) and another with Vaseline (the little Vaseline tubs come undone to easily and are not that great looking anyway) I'm thinking of filling one with Desitin, because the tubes are to big. Which actually brings me to my second tip--use Vaseline for everything. I use it on the baby's diaper rash in a pinch, on my cuticles, on my brows (occasionally) on my lips and on that part of the nose that gets really red when my little ones have a runny nose. ◦

1.The Barefoot Contessa brushes oil on the top of cupcake tins to avoid getting the crusty burned stuff on the rims. I use art brushes and paint brushes in my kitchen, they do the same thing and are more affordable and sometimes more precise. She also only uses white cupcake liners because they look nicer...so true.
2. put your fussy baby in this thing while watching a baby Einstein DVD and she'll let you shower, blow dry and flat iron your hair. A great big brother to keep her focused helps too.
