New House Blues

We have found our house! A few months ago actually. I haven't wanted to obsess over it since things can always fall through, come undone, unravel...but we're finally only weeks away from closing and I have a million thoughts and lists in my head. Closing on the home comes at the perfect time too, since our landlord just informed us he's selling this place.
The new house needs some TLC though and I'm not sure how much of the big stuff we can do right away. For starters, before we move in we have to scrub it down, I mean like an industrial strength clean sweep. After that my mother insists we have it fumigated. Then we need to paint the exterior and the interior. Every wall, ceiling, corner, closet, and crevice will be painted. The house has crown molding which is such a plus, but it also has tile floor throughout the first floor..yuck, ick, gross. I HATE tile. There's also carpet on the stairs and the second level where there are 3 bedrooms, the master bedroom is downstairs, we're thinking of making it a den.. So here is the list of things to do: Clean, Paint, Install new floors (walnut stain hardwood), tear out kitchen and replace with most affordable materials possible, make white roman shades for all windows, retile bathrooms, install pedestal sinks in bathrooms, install new mirrors and light fixtures in bathrooms, new light fixtures everywhere actually, tear out overgrown shrubs, re-sod, do something with the wood playset in the yard (restain?) Oh so much to do..In the meantime I'm looking for the perfect grayish light blue for the whole first floor (Living room, kitchen, den..everything) and the perfect white for the trim...HEEELLPP! In the meantime here are some great blues just for fun. This fist one is close to what I want.

sounds like a lot of work...but how great it will be to see it all come together and to have a big part in making it a wonderful home!
