I was thinking...

Blogging has kinda changed my life. It sounds really dramatic I know, but this world of blogging has opened so many possibilities for me. We have been in limbo for some time, and there are just so many things up in the air, many decisions to make. We are/were even considering moving to a different state...crazy right. Right around the time I had my son there were a lot of changes in my life and now after Izzy it seems to be happening again.

Anyway, during these sometimes difficult and long days of instability, the blogs have kept me occupied, happy and sane. I've tried new recipes, improved my health, read more books (so I can be an interesting person again) visited more places, I've even started creating things (and opening an Etsy shop..pics to come). Blogging has even make me a better dresser( thanks Emily style)

As for the better health part, I was inspired by blogger Liz (who I actually knew back in the day in NY) to start a running program. My good friend Ginny and I (who had her 4th baby girl 10 days before I had my baby girl)have been running for almost 2 weeks and let me tell you we are NOT runners. NEVER HAVE BEEN. It is REALLY HARD. But today for the first time when we ran we weren't dying. And though our goal will be to eventually run a 10 K, for now we're just trying to run for 30 minutes straight. Here's the 10-week program. Feel free to use it if you are as lame and out of shape as we are.
Week 1 Run 2 min Walk 4-Do it 5 times
Week 2 Run 3 min Walk 3-Do it 5 times
Week 3 Run 5 Walk 2.5-Do it 4 times
Week 4 Run 7 Walk 3-Do it 3 times
Week 5 Run 8 Walk 2-Do it 3 times
Week 6 Run 9 Walk 2-Do it 3 times
Week 7 Run 9 Walk 1-Do it 3 times
Week 8 Run 13 Walk 2-Do it 2 times
Week 9 Run 14 Walk 1-Repeat 2 times
Week 10 Run 30 minutes straight

*I got this from a legitimate trainer.. you can repeat a week if you're not ready to move on to the next week and you can start where you feel comfortable..also, 5 min warm up in the beginning and 5 min cool down. We'll see how it goes.

This is my first time visiting your blog and I love it! I'm so glad I found it!

I want to do the running plan you have listed...how many days a week are you supposed to run? 3...5...6...?

I look forward to visiting often! :)

Thanks for reading ladies. It's great to know I'm not talking to myself out here.. Amanda, to answer your question. The program can be done 3 days a week Tue, Thu, Sat or 4 days Mon, Wed, Fri, and for us we usually Sat. We've been doing the 4 day program and it's crazy how you think you'll never be able to progress to the following week but we do. This week were on week 5 and it's hard but somehow were doing it. I think the most helpful thing has been to do it with a partner..(and get good running shoes) Good luck. Let me know how it goes..
